What Is A Periodontist?
Dr. Joseph Cristoforo and Dr. Andrew Carmosino are periodontists, dentists who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease as well as the placement of dental implants. Periodontics is one of the nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association. Advanced education in the specialty of periodontics requires extensive training and three additional years of education beyond dental school. In addition, Drs. Cristoforo and Carmosino are both board certified by the American Board of Periodontics, placing them in the top 1% percent of all dentists in the U.S.
